About Dr. Maroukel

If you’re here, sleep likely hasn’t been working the way it should. Whether you’re struggling to fall asleep, stay asleep, or wake up feeling rested, these challenges are common—and treatable.

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and Diplomate in Behavioral Sleep Medicine (DBSM), specializing in evidence-based treatment for insomnia and other sleep disorders. My work focuses on helping you make meaningful, lasting changes using approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I).

My Approach

Sleep is not one-size-fits-all. It’s shaped by your health, habits, stress, and daily routines.

My approach is structured, practical, and personalized. Together, we identify what’s impacting your sleep and develop a clear, actionable plan to help you fall asleep more easily, stay asleep longer, and feel restored during the day.

Training & Background

I completed a behavioral sleep medicine fellowship at Stanford University’s Sleep and Circadian Health program, where I developed specialized expertise in treating insomnia and complex sleep disorders.

I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco and completed my clinical internship at Samaritan Health Services in Oregon.

My training includes work across primary care and specialty medical settings, providing evidence-based care to individuals with a wide range of sleep, medical, and mental health concerns.
